Education at Foundation level is the starting point of lifelong training of an individual to develop holistically. It is a critical phase in the development of brain when maximum learning and growth takes place. At this time, the impact of the external environment is very significant and the children need a secure, accepting and a stimulating environment so that they can make a transition from the comfort zones of their homes to school.
Recognizing this need for warm, wonderful and comfortable surroundings, the Foundation level environment at Maxfort School is designed accordingly. It is imaginative and beautiful to maintain the interest and admiration of young minds.
The facilitators are affectionate and friendly making the children settle down easily in the new environment away from their homes. Teaching begins once the children have adapted and adopted their new surroundings.
The daily activities are guided by a structured curriculum that enhances the physical and sensory development of a child preparing him for future academic success. Focusing on the child’s imagination, innovation and social skills, the child is introduced to various aspects of education through playful and fun activities.
The students learn reading, writing and arithmetic. Storytelling, role play, drama, poetry, rhymes and songs etc. are used to help children develop a rich language base and love for literature. Fun filled activities are used to introduce shapes, teach counting, patterns and other mathematical skills such as comparing and sorting. Observation and exploration of nature are also part of the joyful daily practices giving the children an experience of life sciences and the natural environment.
The creative element within each child is nurtured with the help of initiatives like coloring, painting and craft making that awaken the children’s imagination. As the children take delight in these creative activities, they develop motor skills, focus and concentration along with hand and eye coordination.
The Foundation level classrooms are teeming with enthusiastic, zealous children engaged in playful activities. The warmth of the classrooms is welcoming offering resources to explore, learn and express. The motivating environment and well equipped infrastructure ensure proper growth and development of children. Outdoor activities that include lot of physical movement offer empirical learning evoking feeling of enquiry and stimulating curiosity. They support children’s intrinsic positive relationship with nature apart from providing a safe open space to play and have fun.
Altogether, a day at Maxfort, helps to develop the children’s perception and logical thinking apart from creativity and language skills. The purposeful, artistic and academic activities keep the children engaged and challenged encouraging healthy social interaction. The children develop social and behavioral skills that lay the foundation for an integrated personality in the future.
